Editing and Equipment
The editing software we shall use to create the film will be:
Sanyo TH1
But not many films use the fish eye lens but it could come in handy sometimes for examople really close shots.
Ident
We really liked the dream works ident where the boy is fishing on the moon and then their logo appears.
So inspired by this we decided to film a time lapse of the moon. But we had to wait for the perfect day to get a full moon to create the proper effect we wanted. This day came to me when i was out riding a outdoor skate park till fairly late and i noticed that there was a full moon, so i figured it would be the best opportunity to film. So i set the tripod up and there you have it a ident!
We then took this clip and added text on to it which was " M.J Productions" we choose this name because it was fairly short and kind of had a ring to it.
We then placed the text under the moon and made it the same colour as the moon to make it almost look like the text is supposed to be there, like the dream works text.
This is what we came out with:
Location for filming

All of our filming will take place at Josh's house this is beacause Josh's house has a nice big front garden and also a big house. This means that we can get a lot of shot of the front of the house which will look good. The scenes which will be shot indoor wil be in the main living room of josh's house because this is the mostly lit room with a big window at the front providing the light for the whole room.
Audience Feedback Draft 1
Things what people iked in the draft was the filming which show the relationship between the charaters which we tried to make look like amatuer filming by putting a filter on the clips when on the editing software.
They thought our patential problems was the lighting in the clips beacause some of them were very dark and also some shots were handheld which they thought should of been with a tripod.
Myself i was not to pleased with the first draft but hope the final products develops alot from this idea when we next film we shall consider the audiences thoughts and try to acomplish them.

Insperation!
'Wednesday' Short Film from Rob Sorrenti on Vimeo.
The opening of this short film gave us alot of insperation on what to do. I particuarly liked the opening of the film how the title sequence is presented and the establishing shots after it really creates a feel.
2nd Draft
This is our 2nd draft which is alot differento our 1st 1 but i better. For our final peice we hope to have a voice over on the final clips of the boyfried reading the letter out also we shall replace the clip of the feather falling with a clip of the girlfriend holding a picture of the boyfriend in rememberance which i hope will create more feeling.
Analysis
Firstly i will comment on the title sequence i was'nt quite sure about the previous title sequence and where it was placed, i didnt really think it gave the feel that it was a opening to a film and it seemed more like a trailor. I qalso changed the font and colour because i felt that the last was was to "cheesy" and amatuer i fell that the knew one gives more a proffesional look. This was inspired by the short film "wednesday" which is on my blog.
The first shot i have used is of a black bird flying off a aerial i think this shot really contrasts well with the colour of the title sequence and gives the feel of natural beauty which can relate to love, i also used slow motion on this clip so the beauty of it is shown more.
The next shot is of a sunset which also relates to beauty. But both of these things could connote that something of great beauty will go away or fly away, e.g the sunset looks amazing but its when it is gone there is nothing but darkness this will realate to the boyfriend because the girlfriend see him as beauty but once he has died theres nothing left for her. Also once the black bird has flown away there is no beauty left but only the television aerial.
The next shot is off the girlfriend walking towards the house and the title sequence appears on the lawn. The colour of the text is blue but the lawn is green which comes from the saying"blue and green should never be seen" this could connote that something will happen that will be bad and rather not be seen. Also the girlfriend is wearing pink but over that is the colour black which could connote that something bad will happen because black is the colour of death but the pink underneath could represent that there was happyness before.
The next shot i will comment on is the close up of her putting the key in the door. This shot creates tension and makes the audience want to know whats inside.
Then there is a point of view of the girlfriend looking down at the boyfriend i have used slow motion and muted the sound to create more feel this was inspired by a scen out of "this is england" where milky dies.
Then once again there is a shot of birds but this time there is two bird on top of a aerial and they both fly off this shot is to show that the characters where once close like the birds but then one bird leaves and the other follows and now nothing is left. This connotes that the boyfriend has died and left the girlfriend so the girlfriend has nothing now.
Then there is a shot of a feather gliding in the air this connotes that anything could happen now it unpredictable because the wind will just take the feather just like the girlfriend because now her boyfriend has died she doesnt know where to go so anything can happen.
It then becomes the next scene and it tells the audience its a week before and there is a close up of the letter getting put throught the door then a close up shot of the letter on the floor this shot is to show the audience where the letter has came from.
Then boyfriend comes to pick up the letter and there then is a a low angle of the boyfriend to show his expression on his face which is confusion.
Then the boyfriend opens the letter, this is where we shall have a voice over in the final peice of him reading the letter out in his head.

Forever In My heart Script Scene 1
Characters in scene: Chris Mason, Ruby May
(Camera shot refer back to storyboard)
Ruby May:
(dimmed voice due to camera outside window) (in shock)
Chris!! Chris!! Wake up!
(Filming then becomes indoor and voice sounds normal)
Ruby May: Chris Please wake up i don’t want to lose you, not now!
Chris! You’re scaring me, wake up please!
(Places Chris’s head down and continues trying to resituate)
Ruby May: No! No! Please!
(Takes her final hug then looks up at the camera which establishes into her eye)
End of Scene1
Actors
We had a brain wave that we could use my mum and her boyfriend if they are willing to participate. This will look more realistic at create more feeling to the film.
We are going to do a test shot today using my sister and her boyfriend if it looks good then we shall carry on futher using them as the actors. If not my mum and boyfriend will have to take part :) x

Feedback from Pitch
Genre:
All of the audience have relised that the film is a romance/tradgedy.
Target audience:
This seemed to be a problem many of the audience didnt answer this question or simply put a question mark. This was proberly a problem because me and josh didnt even think of a target audience. Some people have really done it for us and put middle aged women and people who like romances. We need to have a think about are target audience in more detail in a later task]
Other texts it reminds you of (intertextuality)
There where many answers to this which could be a good thing or a bad thing because if it reminds them to much of a film it could become predictable but if it doesnt remind them of anything then then could not get the genre. there were many answers e.g P.s i love you, notebook, romeo and juliet etc this is proberly a good thing because not every one has put the same thing so it doesnt look like we have copied and plot already.
Potential Problems
There was the same problem that kept raising up which was if we was not alowed to use the song. If this is so then we shall simply find a free copyright song. Also somebody had put that we needed it to rain to film the first scene but we are simply goin to get a shower head type fitting to put on top of a hose and spray in front of camera which shud seem enogh and then when it comes to the shot looking through the windown we shall spray the window. Another problem was that the actors need to be good and be able to show true emotions we thought this problem through and we thought it shall be good to use my sister as she is a drama student and her boyfriend so it makes it more realistic to her, but this araised another problem which was the age of the actors because my sister is only 14 and her boyfriend is 15 although we could proberly make them look slightly older not enough to make it realistic though so then we thought of some thing else but we wanted them to use there boyfriend/girlfriend in it so it makes it more realistic for them and show there true emotions to each other, we then realised that we have a friend who has a girlfriend who he is comftable with and he has also done acting like this before, he is 17 and if any thing looks alot older, all we need to do is ask and this would be our problem solved!
Positive Comments
there was alot of good feedback and this was the box that was mainly filled in which was good. The main aspect they thought was good was the amatuer filming after the credits which gives the audience a real idea of how good the characters relationship was and shows the audience how much of a loss it was to the girlfriend.
Advise/suggestions
There was alot of answers to this aswell one was that there would be to many flashbacks and mabye the girlfriend could find and read the letter after he dies which is a very good idea that we shall take into consideration. Another suggsetion was that how are we goin to make it clear that it is hoom footage on the amatuer filming, we shall do this by puttin the camera settings on a bad quality and on the editing program we use is has effects to make the clip look old.
25 Word Pitch
(1st slide)
Me and josh have chosen to film a opening of a film for our coursework. The genre of the film is a romance. We chose this genre because looking through the previous coursework nobody seem to have attempted to create a romance so we thought we should be ones who do it and we fell we can do this fairly well. The title of our film is "Forever in my Heart" we came to a conclusion that this would be the best title to use because the other titles we thought about gave a lot away of the film.
(2nd slide)
The first scene will be straight into the action. So we shall start it off with a establishing shot of the house (which will be Josh's house) we used the establishing shot so the audience immediately know that where there setting is. Also in this shot it shall be raining and it will be fairly dark this represents sadness. Eventually the establishing shot ends up with the camera peering through the window with the only light on in the house. Also we shall have very dramatic/sad music playing at a low volume to create a feeling, proberly played on the piano.
(3rd slide)
The next shot will be inside the house and will show the boyfriend laying on the floor lifeless and the girlfriend kneeling beside him trying to resuscitating him. She will be in great shock, and at this point the music gets louder and more dramatic. Then the girlfriend will hold here boyfriend in her arms and realise that he has died, she will then look up at the camera which will get closer to her eye which shall shed a tear and eventually end up so close to her eye it Will become darkness which represents death.
(4th slide)
This is when the titles will role and the the music we want to use is from a YouTube clip which someone has written and sang herself and we have emailed the women to see if we could use her music in our film and we are awaiting a reply.
(5th slide)
The music will still be playing but the titles shall fade out and then amateur filming will be shown of the boyfriend and girlfriend filming each other on there own personal camera of particularly happy times. The music Will the slowly dimmer and the boyfriends voice will become a voice over of the amateur filmed clip and he shall be explaining, in a soft and calm voice, how his life was brilliant and is amazed how it can go from to to bottom in just 1 week. Hinting towards the rest of the film.
(6th slide)
Then the amateur clips will fade out and a title will come up saying " Present Week". This shot will be of the boyfriend ( who shall be wearing dark colours) picking up a letter from the post in his house. ( it is also daylight and sunny at this point) and sitting down to read the letter in privacy. He opens it slowly to find its from the NHS. He then begins to read it but in his head this will be shown by a voice over and the beginning of the letter shall be voiced over by the nurse e.g dear mr ... then the boyfriend voice shall take over. He then gets to the point where he reads its to late to take his medication and there is no cure for his condition and only has at the max a week to live.
(7th slide)
Then his girlfriend rushes into the room ( who shall be wearing brightly coloured clothes) the boyfriend then panics and hides the letter. The girlfriend shares some dialect the boyfriend e.g are we still going for that walk today. He then replies yes but I'm going to take next week off and spend the whole week with you. she then looks shocked but excited and says " that's fantastic whats brought this on" he then says " oh nothing i just don't spend enough time with you" she then goes out the room to get ready to go out.
(8th slide)
he then un crinkles the letter and continues to read for it to say make the most of this week do all the things you've alwayswanted to do. He then puts the letter down in shock. Then the camera will become a close up of his face to show emotion and he will look sad. Then the YouTube song will then fade back on as the clip fades out. Eventually the song fades and that would be the ending of the opening of the film. :)

Mood Board
This is our mood board we found out that most of the films/posters use the colour red to represent love.
CopyRight Songs
This is the song that me and josh desperately want to use for our title sequence because our film is call "forever in my heart" and the song fits perfect to our film.
This is "HappySlip"'s original song which she has written and sang herself.
So because of our desperate need for the song me and josh are going to email "HappySlip" to ask her if we can use her song in our media studies film.
I hope it goes well :)

Love actually Opening Scene Evaluation
Ive had to copy the link to my blog instead of the embed code because there was none available.
Ive chosen the opening scene from love actually because we are basing our film on a romance.
Firstly i have noticed that the non digetic music is very calm. It sounds like its being played by a organ.
The next thing i noticed is that the title sequence fades in and out very slowly, this is the emphasise the calmness of the opening scene.
We can also see that the film is made by working title so we can see that the budget for this film would be fairley high
The whole of the first scene is clips of people of all ages reuniting at Heathrow airport and showing love and affection by kissing and hugging.
In all of these clips the noise of them is muted so the main focus is on the people hugging and it blocks out unwanted noise so the clips are silence which creates more beauty.
Also most of the clips have use of slow motion, this is to create more beauty, because if the clip was fast then it would create the opposite effect.
It also looks like the clips have been colour corrected to look brighter and emphasises lighter colours, this is because light represents good and that is what is being shown in this scene.
Then next thing what i have noticed is the voice of of the scene which is a vital part of the scene and it creates the calmness and warm feeling to the scene. Firstly this is because Hugh grant has a very calm voice naturally and he is speaking very slowly which fits nicely into the slow motion and the slow fading in the opening sequence.
